Do yourself a favor and stay here while in Marlborough! It is the most charming place, complete with friendly sheep! Word and pictures do not do it justice. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets included too! Angela is the best hostess and made sure we had farm fresh eggs, milk, and bread, along with all the jams! We can’t recommend it enough!
We had the most amazing time here! The barn is beautiful and the walk through the vineyard was fabulous! We would absolutely stay here again. Angela and her husband were so friendly and helpful and made the stay even better. Can’t wait to come back!
The apartment is such a lovely place which is conveniently located to travel around the area. The house and environment is outstanding, and equally if not more so are the hosts, who made our group feel so at home. The animals around are really friendly and adorable, definitely another huge plus for us.
My wife & I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this guest home, wonderfully located within a 10-20' drive from most of the cellar doors & restaurants in the Blenheim/Renwick area. Ange & Steve were super-friendly & approachable, with lots of helpful local tips (even for repeat visitors to the area), & it was very relaxing to be able to take a walk through the beautiful vineyards & wetlands on the property. We didn't use the 2nd bedroom, but appreciated the washer/dryer, made good use of the gas grill & well-stocked kitchen when not dining out, & hope to be back again on a future visit!
Travelling via Airbnb is not only a matter of lodging, it is also about the hosts. The Cedar Barn was amongst our best Airbnb experience! Angela and Steve are wonderful hosts: generous with their time, suggestions, treats, great breakfast, etc. Very interesting persons to talk to with a good sense of humour. They recommended us good restaurants but we were so confortable, warm and cozy that we ended-up having our four dinners in the loft. We really wished we had stayed longer. Highly recommended!
Couldn’t recommend this place more! The view is really something else! The cottage itself is absolutely stunning, and the view from the windows/patio outside will take your breathe away - vineyards through to mountains. It’s so lovely with the animals around also, the place has endless character. We loved the homey vibe of the cottage. Renwick itself is a fantastic location to dot about all the vineyards, from those with renowned brands to the smaller boutique names. Angela was a great host - good communication, super lovely and relaxed with check in/check out, set the place up really nicely for our arrival!
If you are planning to stay near Blenheim you owe yourself to check out this fabulous accommodation. We had the freedom of the vineyard, orchard, and olive plantation. Steve (one half of the fab hosts) even leant us his little 4x4 truck to drive around the spread. Ange (the other half of the fab hosts) made sure we had everything we needed with rather well stocked cupboard and fridge. There is even a bottle of the excellent DDOG Sav (you will not find it in the shops). Also try the cheese platter and wine one evening. The accommodation includes a laundry so no need to pack a million clothes. Save yourself time. No need to search further. Book this place. Ange and Steve will make sure you have a fab stay.
The Cedar Barn is absolutely beautiful and the setting is so lovely. All you can see for miles are vineyards and you are within minutes of some of NZ’s top wineries. In addition to the beautiful location, the barn is beautifully decorated, spacious and so comfortable. We loved interacting with the farm animals in the backyard. Don’t hesitate to book if you’re visiting Blenheim/Renwick! Angela is a wonderful and personable host who will make you feel right at home.
I stayed at Angela's place the night before my wedding. Ang was wonderful to deal with and went the extra mile to ensure that our stay was stress free. The home was immaculate, and in such a beautiful garden setting. The super friendly cats (from next door) were an added bonus. Thank you so so much for a wonderful stay, Ang. This place was magical! The property and the grounds were absolutely stunning. All the beautiful plants, vines, beautifully landscaped areas, even little hiking trails - were such a pleasure to walk around and enjoy. The barn itself is very picturesque, and waking up to birds chirping and looking out at the vineyards is a treat! The eggs and other snacks were very tasty, and Angela and her family were so friendly. We would definitely stay here again next time we’re in the area!
The Cedar Barn is a fantastic place to stay and in a magical location. Angela is a great host and had the barn looking perfect for our arrival. Very generous with breakfast provisions plus a host of other pantry items and treats! Picturesque surroundings in the countryside but still close to all the vineyards and tourist attractions in the area. I can't wait to return and highly recommend it as a great place to escape to!
